As Director of Communications in the Hawaiʻi office, Honey is a treasure hunter who seeks out priceless gems and nuggets of information to weave the stories that capture the true essence of each client. As CBS reporter Steve Hartman has shown us for years, everyone has a story.

Honey provides incisive and insightful strategies and tactics, tailoring each approach to the specific needs of our clients. She is aveteran television news producer with 25 years of experience that includes some of the biggest headlines of our time: the September 11th attacks, the kidnapping and rescue of Elizabeth Smart, the 2004 Tsunami, the 2015 San Bernardino terror attacks, the Michael Jackson trial, and more. Before joining S360, she executed content-packed, deadline-driven newscasts and special live event and breaking news coverage from Southern California’s notorious high-speed chases to massive brushfires, and annual city parades to red-carpet awards shows for the top-rated stations in Los Angeles (KABC-TV) and Honolulu (Hawaii News Now and KHON). Her ability to manage staff and projects in a high-pressure environment translates into top-level strategic communications and media relations for clients in Hawaiʻi and across the West.

Born and raised in Honolulu, and a graduate of Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, Honey holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Bradley University in Central Illinois. After realizing her childhood (and young adulthood) dream of working in L.A., she and her ʻohana returned home so her daughter could grow up surrounded by the culture and community (and yummy food) that make Hawaiʻi special.

Honey is a firm believer that the best way to hone one’s craft is to jump in, ask questions, and soak it all in to fully understand the contributions and skills everyone brings to the table. Everyone has something to offer, and everyone has a story.

Throughout his tenure, John has been instrumental in cultivating robust relationships and partnerships across a diverse spectrum of stakeholders in Hawaiʻi, including key elected officials and local media, as well as influential figures in the construction industry and business community.

Prior to his current role, John was at the helm of the Pacific Resource Partnership (PRP), where he led Hawaiʻi’s most significant labor-management cooperative program. He adeptly represented the Hawaiʻi Regional Council of Carpenters and around 240 contractors, demonstrating his unparalleled ability to navigate complex industry landscapes.

Under his leadership at PRP, John pioneered innovative grassroots and advocacy campaigns, achieving state and county zoning approvals for various landowners and developers across the state.
